I would like to take a moment to thank everyone for a very successful year! We have accomplished so much as a Performing Arts Department that I am looking forward to what next year brings!

This is a quick recap of what we have done: re-launched a better and more efficient website to keep everyone informed of our events, had a well participated Pep Band and a rejuvenated rhythm section (Pep Band award recipients), the highest attended Listening Rooms, the most dynamic and well prepared performances for the Listening Rooms, an amazing production of “The Diary of Anne Frank”, the BEST sounding and hardworking Pit Orchestra we have had, one of the most highly attended and successful musicals (Annie), we raised just over $3,000 for the Jams for Jean Fund, had an amazing performance at the Acoustic Rock Show 9, breathed new life into our LR and ARS shows by incorporating video and sound with a student crew, had a successful and enjoyable trip to Boston, the vocal department had a successful performance at the Brook Theatre, and we had the hardest working and hardest worked Concert Band to date!

My only regret this year is that we were not able to go down to Mauger to continue our recruiting campaign. We are, however, going to make that priority #1 next year starting in the fall. I am confident that we picked up enough momentum to use for recruiting next year. There is a recruiting video in the works featuring footage from most of the events I listed above that we will use as a supplement and we also have a lot of our veterans to continue our success as a department.

In addition to continuing our success as an instrumental department, there are also plans in the works for my other classes to continue our success there. AP Music Theory will be offered again (after a seven year hiatus) and multimedia will be pushed aggressively in my AP Theory, Guitar Labs, and Drum Labs.

Again, thank you for your support for our Performing Arts Department. I could not be more proud of what your children accomplished this year!

Mr. I
